Día1. ARRIVAL IN BAMAKO.
On regularly scheduled flight (commercial airline). Transfer from airport to town and overnight in hotel.

Day 2. BAMAKO-SÉGOU (235 KM)
In the morning we will visit the city of Bamako, which combines an interesting mix of the colonial buildings and colourful street markets that characterise West Africa. Visit to the museum and the market. Lunch and departure for Ségou. On the way we will visit Segoukoro, a village located on the banks of the charm over the centuries and was, for long periods of its history, the chosen residence of the Bambara emperors. Overnight in hotel.

Day 3. SÉGOU-MOPTI (420 KM)
Departure in the morning towards Mopti (often called the Venice of Mali due to its many waterways). The route takes us through a wild landscape dotted with giant baobab trees and thorny bushes. Brief stop to admire the San Mosque and several Bambara and Bobo villages. Arrival mid- afternoon and trip on a pinasse (traditional covered boat with outboard motor) to see riverside Bozo fishing villages and Peul livestock farms. Overnight in hotel.

Day 4. MOPTI-DJENNÉ- MOPTI (260 KM)
Departure in the morning towards the weekly market at Djenné, a perfect opportunity to witness the wide variety of ethnic groups who live along the Niger River valley. This is also a good time to admire the region's adobe constructions and various other remarkable forms of the so-called Sudanese in the afternoon. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5. MOPTI
The morning will be spent exploring canal-laced Mopti. This spectacular river port, set against the backdrop of majestic red mud-brick Sudanese buildings, evokes the memory of the glorious 14th and 15th century Mandingo empires, famous for their thriving trade between Timbuktu and Djenné. Visit the old Taikiri neighbourhood, the Sougouni market and the afternoon, we will visit the craft market and stop off in a typical Bozo bar to observe the bustling life of the river port. Overnight in hotel.

Day 6. MOPTI-DOGON COUNTRY (130 km)
Departure in the mornig to the Bandiagara Escarpment. Visit to the village of Songo and its sacred cave paintings. In the afternoon, we will visit the village of Jiguibombo. Overnight in hotel.

Day 7. DOGON COUNTRY-MOTI (170 KM)
Early morning departure towards the cliff in order to embark on short walking excursion around some of the villages built into the escarpment. You will be given the opportunity to appreciate the enormous skill of the Dogon peoples and their vibrant artistic expressions: masks, ritual figures and carved doors. Departure in the afternoon towards Mopti. Overnight in hotel.

Day 8. MOPTI- BAMAKO-DEPARTURE (675 KM)
Departure in the morning towards Bamako. Stop in Ségou for lunch. Arrival in Bamako and afternoon free. Evening transfer to the airport.
